Swanna Mae (Alley) Cooper

Swanna Alley Cooper, 93, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

Born in Rowan County on March 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Argie  Leonard and Joseph Franklin Alley.

Swanna was a graduate of East Spencer High School. She was retired from Fieldcrest Cannon and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jewell Martin Alley, Albert “Skeet” Alley and Robert Alley; step brothers, A.B. Leonard, Jr. and William Leonard; sisters, Wilma Alley Butler, Dorothy Alley Butler and Betty Bowler; step sisters, Irmena Leonard Copley, Geneva Leonard Thomas, Helen Leonard Barnes and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jean Cooper Dunn of Plano, TX and Elva Cooper Koontz of Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn Schnur (A.J.) of Midland, TX, Kelly Dunn Garza of Plano, TX, Julie Cline (Chad) of Raleigh, Lisa Suprenand (Paul) of St. Petersburg, FL; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Lauren Schnur of Midland, TX, Tyler (Jenn) and Bailey Garza of Plano, TX, Jack and Kai Suprenand of St. Petersburg, FL, Annabelle and Isabelle of Plano, TX; special niece, Argie Butler Williams of Salisbury.

Visitation: 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.

Service: 11:00 AM Saturday at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Dale Kinley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery.
