Timothy Kirk Estey

Timothy Kirk Estey, 50, of Concord North Carolina passed away with family by his side shortly after midnight Wednesday, January 16th, 2019. He battled a rare type of kidney cancer for a year after being diagnosed. He was born Tuesday, August 28, 1968 in Burlington Vermont to Richard Harold Estey Sr. and the late Laurel Lee Ludden Estey.

He was a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School, class of 1986. He worked alongside dear friends as a Warehouse Manager at the local, family owned plumbing supply business, Ruehlen Supply Company for twenty years. His work ethic, sense of humor, tenacity, and love were known to both his work family and his wife and children for whom he provided for all his life.

He was also an extraordinarily talented, self taught visual artist and musician. His instrument of choice was guitar and his own voice. His favorite mediums were watercolor and acrylic paints, however he also loved to sketch in both graphite and ink.

He is survived by his father Richard H. Estey Sr., his mother Cecilia A. Estey, sister Rebekah L. Doolittle, his companion and caregiver Ann Hall, the mother of his children and lifelong friend Heather Hanley Estey, and his two children Julia H. Estey and Benjamin L. Estey.

Services will be Saturday January 19th at Eastside Church, 10132 Harrisburg Rd. Charlotte, NC 28215. The family will be receiving friends at 6pm, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm.

Although flowers will be graciously accepted, memorial contributions made to The Rare Cancer Research Foundation, Hospice & Pallative Care of Cabarrus County, or Kids&Art in honor of Tim, his fight, and his life would be very meaningful to both the family and his memory.
