Betty Jean Hill Burleson, 88, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at her residence.
Born in Anson County on September 23, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Vera S. Strickland Hill and Johnny Henry Hill, Sr.
Mrs. Burleson was a graduate of Wadesboro High School. She worked as a special needs bus driver for over 20 years before retiring. She was a die hard Carolina Panthers football fan. Mrs. Burleson enjoyed flowers, gardening, and growing her own food. She loved her family the most and was a great mom. She was a member of Woodleaf United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Burleson, three brothers, one sister, two nieces, and one nephew.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Darrell Eugene Bryant (Samaralee) of High Point; daughters, Kenya Michele Burleson of Salisbury and Tonya Burleson Yates (Scott Messick) of Salisbury; sisters, Nancy Simmons (Billy Jo) of Matthews and Susan Schafer of Oak Island; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Woodleaf United Methodist Church, 9000 Church St, Woodleaf, NC 27054. Service will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Sybil Perrel officiating. Burial will follow at Bennett Family Cemetery, 437 McRae Ave, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
