Carl Russell Moose, Sr., 88, of Salisbury went to reside in his heavenly home on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born in Alexander County, NC on January 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Annie Dagenhart and William Colon Moose.
Mr. Moose was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and went visiting at the VA Medical Center. He worked as a sales manager at Advance Auto Parts for over 50 years. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed talking to people. He loved fishing, riding his four wheeler, and spending time at his home place in Alexander County. Mr. Moose loved to have his family out at the home place for family cookouts. He was an avid collector of Native American artifacts, mainly arrowheads and was a member of The Arbor United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Lundy Moose; brothers, Tom Moose, Jim Moose, and David Moose; sisters, Sylvia Brewer and Wilma Nash.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Carl R. Moose, Jr. of Granite Quarry; daughter, Carla M. Erwin of Salisbury; brother, Dwight Moose; sisters, Bera Stephenson, Jeanette Siceloff, Loretta Baker, and Debra Byers; granddaughter, Jessica Erwin.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2022 at The Arbor United Methodist Church, 5545 Woodleaf Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147 with service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.
