Charles Ray Sellers, 65, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. He has gone on to glory to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Rowan County on August 19, 1957, he was the son of the late Dorothy Allen Sellers and Woodrow Wilson Sellers.
Charles was an exceptional and dedicated son of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He was a very humble servant of Jesus. He was extremely active in his beloved church, Mount Hope Church of Salisbury. He loved being active in church activities, representing his Jesus Christ – Live Christmas Nativity, “walking-the-cross” in communities and cities, construction, helping the needy, caring for church members, serving meals, homeless shelters, food drives, prayer station at festivals, etc. Charles was very active in witnessing to everyone, everywhere, every time. He was an active deacon, trustee, usher, and servant in his church. Charles worked as a plumber at Gamewell Mechanical for 25 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Brown Sellers; step mother, Brenda Brooks Sellers; brother, David Sellers.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tina Key; step son, Jonathan Thompson (Taryn); step daughter, Elizabeth Butler; brothers, Billy Joe Sellers (Patsy) and Ronnie Sellers; sisters, Barbara S. Drye (Alvin), Betty S. Morgan (Tony), Carolyn Taylor (Fiancé Norman); step sister, Karen Eagle; foster mother, Louise Curlee; foster father, Clyde Curlee; grandchildren, Jack Key, Andrew Cox, Jacob Thompson, Cameron Key, Allie Treece, Alyssa Thompson; great-grandchild, Zayler Cox, and his special dog, “Spot”.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Mount Hope Church, 7004 Old Concord Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146. Service will begin at 3:00 PM at the church with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Mount Hope Memorial Garden.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Kiser Hospice House for their extremely compassionate dedication and service to Charles and the family.
