Idalia Rickard Snider

Idalia Rickard Snider, 100, of Salisbury, died Saturday, July 11, 2020, at her home.  She was born in Davidson County on March 22, 1920, to Edwin & Mary Lou Rickard.  She faithfully attended Churchland Baptist Church her entire life and was very active in all phases of the church activities.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband R. G. Snider who died in 1978.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Otis Rickard, Swaim Rickard, Inez Rickard, Irene Barrier, and Lena Snider.  She retired from North Carolina Finishing Company in 1986 after 35 years of service. 

Survivors include her three daughters, Joy Gerock, Linda Thomas, and Gayle Wilson.  She has always been proud of her grandchildren Todd Gerock (Jann), Angie Banther (Ted), Nolan Thomas (Ashley), Darin Thomas (Kristen), Lisa Hunt (Scott), Jamie Benton (Wesley), Justin Wilson (Meagan) , David Wilson (Donna) and Diane Cox (John). 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday, July 13, 2020, at 3 pm, Churchland Baptist Church, and burial will follow in the Lomax Cemetery in Churchland.  The family will be available to meet friends in the church following the service.
