Obituary
James “Jim” Michael Lockwood, Sr, 80, of Gold Hill passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Medical Center in Concord.
Born in Buffalo, NY on January 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Dolores Cathrine Pottel and James Lester Lockwood.
Mr. Lockwood was a 1960 graduate of Frontier Central High School. He worked as a pressman and loved to golf, play guitar, and spend time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Snyder; son-in-law, David Buckley; grandson, Kevin Lockwood.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, James “Jim” Lockwood, Jr. (Lori); daughters, Laurie Buckley (Dennis), Julie Sassman, Lisa Shull, Rebecca Salisbury, and Michelle Lockwood (Cody); sister, Linda Rayburg; nephew, Joe Rayburg; niece, Kimberly Borkowski; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his ex-wives, Linda Lockwood and Carol Salisbury, with whom he became forever friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the home of Jennifer Roberts at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
