Mary Joyce (Burr) Goodman

Mary Joyce Burr Goodman, 79, of Richfield, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Glen A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. Joyce was born March, 11, 1943 in Anson County to the late Maude Bruton Yarborough Burr and the late Thomas Eugene Burr, Sr.

Joyce was in the second class to graduate from East Rowan High School, and married the love of her life, the late Jason Donald Goodman in 1962. She was a member of East Corinth Baptist Church in Gold Hill, and she and her husband, Jason, owned a hand-crafted goods retail shop in Rockwell prior to Jason's passing. After, Joyce continued crafting quilts, towels, and other trinkets for local craft festivals. When she was not sewing, she was spending time with her family and friends, or tending to her plants.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Donald Goodman, brother, Thomas Eugene Burr, Jr., sisters, Louise Burr Honbaier and Virginia Burr Alexander.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Jonathan "Dwayne" Goodman and Jason "Darren" Goodman of Richfield, and Clifton "Robin" Goodman of Kannapolis. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sydney Goodman, Tanner Goodman, Conner Goodman, Scott Webb-Goodman, and Alan Goodman.

Memorial Service: 5:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2022 at East Corinth Baptist Church, 12510 Stokes Ferry Rd, Gold Hill, NC 28071 with Pastor Johnny Daniels officiating.
