Nettie (Leatherman) Rogers

Nettie Leatherman Rogers, 87, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.

Born in Rowan County on January 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ida Reep Leatherman and John Collins Leatherman.

Nettie worked in the furniture industry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Rogers, who passed away on October 21, 2005 and son, James Donald Rogers, who passed away on July 10, 1970.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Rogers (Cosandra), Marty Rogers (Debbie); daughters, Shirley Jackson (Carl), Judy R. Hildebrand (Rick); 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Nettie’s wishes were to have her body donated to science, then cremated and buried with her husband.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Kennedy-Hall American Legion Post 106, 6250 NC Highway 801, Salisbury, NC 28147.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan County Relay for Life.
