After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Patricia (Jami) Allen Burleson of Salisbury passed on March 28th at the Kiser Hospice House. She was born in Salisbury on October 9, 1956 to Bill and Pam Allen. Jami is survived by her mother Patricia Allen, her husband of 39 years, Danny Burleson, their two daughters, Holly Hunter (Jason) of Granite Quarry, Brittany Zemanick (Justin) of Faith, her brothers Bart Allen of Salisbury and Chan Allen of Texas. Jami was lovingly referred to as “Nana” by her 4 grandchildren, Stella Hunter, Elaina Hunter, Zoey Zemanick, and Cooper Zemanick. She is also survived by her niece Jennifer Osian and nephew Travis Allen. She was preceded in death by her sister Amanda Allen, father William J. Allen, and brother Lex Allen. Jami was a graduate of East Rowan High School and attended RCCC. She loved animals and horses. Jami was a stay at home mom, preschool teacher at Second Presbyterian Church, and a teacher assistant for special needs children for Granite Quarry, Overton, and Rockwell Elementary. Jami was also an active member of Second Presbyterian Church of Salisbury. The family will receive friends at Second Presbyterian Church of Salisbury Monday, April 2nd at 4:00 with the memorial to follow. The family wants to say a special thanks to Terri Brown and Betty Duncan for their unwavering friendship and support during Jami’s long battle. The family wants to convey our gratitude for all the love and support that we have received from family, friends, and strangers during Jami’s battle with cancer. She fought long and hard and we received many miracles along the way but ultimately God calls all his children home, especially those as wonderful as she was.
