Patricia "Patsy" Maxene (Burns) Holden

Patricia “Patsy” Maxene Burns Holden, age 82, of Salisbury, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after several months of declining health. Mrs. Holden was born August 20, 1936 in Cedar Mountain, Little River Township, Transylvania County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Ollie Claudia Burns and a 1954 graduate of Brevard High School.

Patsy was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury since 1977. She was well loved through her service as a Deacon, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Children’s Mission Friends Teacher. She also served her church on the Pastor Search Committee, Co-chair of Crafts for Missions, and by singing in the church choir. Along with her late husband, Jesse, she was a founding board member of the Good Shepherds Clinic and served as Board Chair for many years. She had a heart for missions and was blessed by encouraging others in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition to her mother, preceding Patsy in death, was her husband of 54 years, Jesse Tyler Holden, Sr., her daughters, Phyllis Holden Keels and Suzanne Holden Gregor, her granddaughter, Julie Keels, and her brother, Donald Burns.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Tyler Holden and his wife Elaine, her grandchildren, Shelby and David Holden and Alan Keels along with his partner Raquel Hartsell, one great-grandson, Ryan Keels and sister-in-law, Patricia Burns Bowling.

Visitation & Service: Visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:30 pm Tuesday, February 26th in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Salisbury with a memorial service following at 1:00 pm. There will be a private burial at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
