Paul Shrewsbury Obituary

Paul Jackson Shrewsbury, 74, of Salisbury passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.

Born in Bluefield, WV on January 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Thelma Loleta Miles and Arnold Luck Shrewsbury, Sr.

Paul was a graduate of Bluefield High School in Bluefield, WV. He started Fiber Industries in 1968 and retired from Koch’s in 2000 due to health problems. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Salisbury where he was a council member and Primetime member. Paul was a lifetime member of the Faith Jaycees, a Locke Fire Department Volunteer, and Cub Scout leader for Troop 315 at Grace Lutheran Church for many years. He loved his nieces and nephews and would do anything for anybody.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arnold and Daniel Shrewsbury and sister, Elizabeth Lawson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Brown Shrewsbury, whom he married on May 16, 1982; sons, Charles Paul Shrewsbury (Heather) of Mt. Holly and Caleb Jackson Shrewsbury (Amanda) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Jason, Braydan, Milo, Addie and Gunnar Shrewsbury.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Mike and Linda Nesbitt for their love and support, Pastor Carol Hallman and First United Church of Christ, family and friends for their kindness, thoughts and prayers. The family would also like to thank Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center and Hospice for their care.

A celebration of life will be held after the health crisis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ, 207 W. Horah St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
