Sue K. Bunton

Sue K. Bunton, 81, of Spencer, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation in Salisbury.

Born in Lancaster, SC on November 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Fannie Sweatt and Charlie Burke Knight.

She attended Lancaster High School and was a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church.

Sue retired from Lancaster Upholstery and was a former pianist at Camp Creek.

She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Richard Allen Bunton; two sons, Jeffrey “Jeff” Lee Bunton and Reginald “Reggie” Burke Bunton; her brother, Dickie Charles Knight; brother-in-law, Frankie Bunton.

She is survived by a daughter, Tifany Bunton of Spencer, NC; two daughter-in-laws, Cindi Loflin of Spencer, NC and Debra Locke Williams of Kershaw, SC; sister, Myra Ireland and husband J.D. of Murrells Inlet, SC; two special sister-in-laws, Sarah Ann White and husband Larry of Monroe, GA and Barbels Bunton of Ridgeland, SC; three grandchildren, Errin Lee Patterson (Lauren) of Columbia, SC, Brittany Nicole Bunton of Lancaster, SC, and Hunter Burke Bunton (Erica) of Lancaster, SC; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Cheyenne Bunton, Logan Martin Scott, Ava Grace Bailey, and Kohen Andrew Bailey, all of Lancaster, SC; niece, Deana Shehane; nephews, Michael Charles Knight, Jimmy Ireland, Scott Ireland, Hans Bunton, John Bunton, Chris Bunton, Ty White, and Brent White.

Sue always cherished family. She loved cooking for the family, but most of all just spending time listening and reminiscing of all the good times (most of which involved a ball field). She also loved her garden and flower beds. Sue, known to many as “Sue B”, was loved by her family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 with visitation following at Camp Creek United Methodist Church, 4721 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
