Van Allen Ritchie, 67, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Cabarrus County on November 19, 1951, he was the son of the late Edna Hinson Ritchie and Wright Ritchie.
Van was a 1970 graduate of Boyden High School and worked for Food Lion and Industrial Specialty Chemical, Inc. He had a beautiful bass voice and was an avid fan of Duke, the Redskins and the Yankees. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with his wife and family. Van was Baptist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Ritchie Collins and brother, Charles Wright Ritchie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Nancy P. Winecoff; sister, Lori Ritchie Brault (John) of New Bern and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Service: 2:00 PM Monday, December 3, 2018 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144 with the Rev. Terry Cruse officiating.
