William “Bill” Henry Ballance, 69, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury, NC.
Mr. Ballance was born on November 10, 1951, to the late Thomas Ballance and Juanita Kipp in Sacramento, CA. Mr. Ballance served in the Vietnam War as a member of the Army’s 234th Transportation Detachment as light vehicle driver. After completing his time in the service, he enjoyed a long career in wholesale distribution of pipe, valves, and fittings.
Bill was a loving father and loyal friend. He was an incredibly hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his many friends at Long Creek Club in Bethania, NC. He loved his family, listening to music and playing as much golf as possible.
He is preceded in death by brother James Ballance. He is survived by brothers Thomas and Archie, sons Michael and Douglas, and grandsons Harrison, Benjamin, and Liam.
A graveside service will be held for Mr. Ballance at the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex in Salisbury, NC on Thursday, October 7th at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the W. G. Hefner VA Medical Center, who provided wonderful care for Bill and will continue to provide support for veterans in a similar battle with dementia.
